In some cases, the best means for preserving a piece of land is to transfer it outright to a land trust. The Frontera Land Alliance will give careful consideration to all serious property donation offers. Before accepting title, the land trust will evaluate:

• The potential of the property to advance Frontera’s mission;
• The resource burden that perpetual stewardship of the property will place on the land trust; and
• Frontera’s ability to meet all financial and personnel obligations associated with managing and preserving the land.

Frontera has accepted property for which the donor attached no restrictions. Such a gift is similar to a cash, securities or other valuable asset donation; it may be sold at some time to finance a future preservation project.
