Growing with Sara Farms
Farm History:
Marty and Ralph Loya, in Socorro, Texas have kept the family farm in operation and in the family for over 100 years.
The Family Land Heritage Program is a recognition program that honors families who have owned and operated a continuous agricultural operation for 100 years or more. Every year the Texas Department of Agriculture hosts a ceremony at the Texas State Capitol to celebrate and commemorate the families who have passed down their proud Texas legacy from generation to generation.
At the farm all the fruits and vegetables that are sold at BODEGA LOYA are grown following certified organic practices. Produce is harvested from the farmland located behind the bodega. Customers have the experience of seeing their food being harvested right from the ground and trees. Other items such as fresh eggs (duck and chicken) are locally sourced from other farmers, and fresh butter and cheese are made fresh daily at a local dairy, Licon Dairy. In addition to selling our produce, we also donate to the El Pasoans Fighting Hunger Food Bank and El Paso Zoo for feeding the animals.
Help is always needed at the farm, from getting the beds ready for the coming season to pulling out weeds. Reach out to Info@FronteraLandAlliance.org for additional details.
The farm accepts cash, all major credit/debit cards and the SNAP card. 50% off produce if you use the SNAP card.
